A highly scalable, open source distributed file system is at the core of this software. The distributed file system enables different organisations to pool many compute and storage resources in a single centrally managed storage pool, which is virtualised and high performance. Gluster uses block storage to store data in chunks on connected computers. The software has been designed with a focus on usability and user experience, making it one of the easier-to-use options out there.

Gluster utilises arbiter volumes to decrease hardware footprint without restricting the level of data integrity.

Deployment is easy, you can deploy the software within minutes. Integrated NFSv4 support is featured, in addition to bit rot detection.

Automatic storage tiering improves the performance of files which are often accessed. With Gluster you will experience a significant reduction of high available, distributed storage. The preservation of data integrity leads to a lowered risk of breaches or non-compliance. The live VMs have much faster back-end storage.

Gluster is very adaptable, it scales with your business as it grows. Changes in your business won’t necessarily mean you will have to create a new storage environment for each project. With this software you can start on a smaller scale and then grow to support higher needs as your organisation continues to evolve. In the case of organisations who need huge amounts of storage, they are able to deploy large scale out storage quite cost-effectively.

Built from the ground up for unlimited scalability, Gluster allows you to very easily add and remove storage. The architecture is elastic and allows for users to very seamlessly extend storage in order to reach their dynamic goals.

Gluster storage has powerful security which utilises erasure coding to safeguard your data.

Erasure Coding works through breaking down data into tiny fragments and then encoding each of those fragments with redundant data padding. Parts are stored in many different locations, which makes it very difficult and unlikely for anyone to be able to steal your data.

Advanced data protection reduces the chances of data being breached by preserving data asset integrity.

As open source software, Gluster is reliable and is very well suited for big data storage. It also suits both semi-structured and unstructured storage requirements.

Open source software delivers a number of advantages over proprietary software. One of these advantages is transparency. With open source you get a full view of the code base and how the community addresses bugs and develops features.

The combined power of the wider community working in tandem delivers more ideas, quicker development and faster troubleshooting when issues arise.

Open source software also often features better security. Since the software’s code is much more thoroughly reviewed by the community. And when issues do arrive, they are often patched a lot faster and more diligently.

Since there are more eyes on it, the reliability of open source code is usually superior to their proprietary counterparts. Since there is often a huge community of people with eyes on the product, the output tends to be a lot more robust as the code is tried and tested. It is for this reason that the majority of the internet is now powered by open source.

Most brands in this industry employ vendor lock-in on their solutions, the only products that are compatible with them are ones made by that vendor (or their associates). This is done to lock you into their ecosystem, benefits them but restricts you, especially as your business continues to grow and your needs evolve.

With Broadberry storage solutions you will never have that problem. Our storage servers are never vendor locked. You will have full freedom to use your choice of third-party hardware.

Our CyberStore appliances are fully compatible with all major storage server software. With this universal compatibility, you will have the flexibility to switch to other storage server software whenever you want. Which avoids the scenario where you are stuck between a rock and a hard place, either having to stick with software that no longer fits the needs of your growing business or to have to make another huge outlay for hardware should you want to change your software to something new.

Over three decades of service in this industry has enabled Broadberry to work with some of the biggest companies in the world. These include Disney, NASA, Sony, Sky, Tesco, the University of Oxford, the University of Cambridge, ITV and the BBC.

Used by the World's Largest Organisations

The CyberStore range of storage servers are used by the world's largest organisations from the BBC, to the CERN project, governement institutions, universities and much more.

Multi
Award-Winning

Year-after-year, the Broadberry CyberStore range of unified storage appliances has beaten the likes of Dell and HPE to be crowned "Best Storage Appliance" by PC Pro magazine.

Outstanding
Value

When compared to the likes of DELL, HPE, EMC etc, the Broadberry CyberStore range of enterprise-grade unified storage appliances is up to 60% cheaper, although using the same quality components such as Seagate drives and Kingston RAM.

Compatible with your
Favourite Software

The Bradberry CyberStore range has been built from industry-leading commodity hardware, and carefully designed to ensuure full compatibility with leading storage operating systems and database engines.

Lower Cost, Same Components

Broadberry enterprise storage appliances are on average 86% lower cost than EMC and 55% lower cost than DELL although built using the same leading-brand server components such as Intel processors and Samsung memory. HPE hard drives are rebadged Toshiba enterprise-class drives, the exact same models as found in Broadberry storage appliances.

Hard Drive Caddies Included

When you buy a Broadberry storage appliance all drive bays are supplied with caddies - so if in 6 months time you decide to expand the storage you can source it freely from the marketplace or ourselves if you wish. The only way to add hard drives to HPE servers is to buy the drives along with caddies from HPE for 200% the price of Broadberry's price.

No Ongoing Licence Costs

Broadberry storage appliances come with enterprise-grade features like IPMI included, whereas HPE charge large fees for perpetual licences for the same features.

Instant, Accurate Quotations

Our website allows you to configure your server online with accurate prices, as opposed to NetApp who require several face-to-face meetings with them before they'll give you a price.

Market Moving Away from Tier 1 Vendors

Over recent years there's been a massive move from the world's largest organisations such as Google to purchase their servers from the likes of Broadberry rather than DELL and HPE. This move is fuelled by the rise in commodity hardware.
